Polly moved from Kent to study Music at Sheffield University and learnt the cello with Antonia Wickham and Bernard Gregor Smith. As a freelance cellist she regularly performs with chamber groups and orchestras including concerts, weddings, functions, TV, radio and recording sessions. Previous performances include Stars in their Eyes, Transmission alongside Richard Hawley, a feature film with Vanessa Mae and a European tour with The Corrz.
Polly is also committed to education and outreach work. As a workshop leader and children's concert narrator, Polly has worked with Ensemble 360, Trevor Pinnock and Matthew Barley. She is currently leading a national tour of Dirty Beasts including a live broadcast on BBC Radio 3 In Tune and her debut performance at the Wigmore Hall. She is also Education & Outreach Manager with Music in the Round, conducts Sheffield's Rivelin Orchestra and teaches the cello and piano.
